Company Overview

GoldStar Semiconductor was formed in 1979 as a joint venture of Korean electronics giant, GoldStar, and the communications giant AT&T (AT&T sold it share back to GoldStar in 1994). GoldStar focused on digital switching systems, transmission equipment, and communication devices. GoldStar Semiconductor also was a second-source producer for logic chips, memory devices, and more advanced chips such as microprocessors.
