Company Overview
Mostek was founded in 1969 by former
employees of Texas Instruments. Mostek made logic, memory, and microprocessor
chips. Mostek's microprocessors were second source versions of the Zilog Z80 and
the Fairchild F8. United Technologies bought Mostek in 1983 and sold Mostek to SGS-ATES in 1985. Mostek produced full lines of the Z80 and its support chips.
