SGS |

formed a partnership with the Italian government. This partnership took
the form of an investment in Italy's SGS resulting in new company SGS-Fairchild
SpA. In 1968 Fairchild withdrew from the partnership. SGS-Fairchild was renamed back to SGS. |
Company Overview
Fairchild was founded by Sheridan Fairchild and the "Traitorous
Eight", in 1957. Much of Fairchild's talent left to found other Silicon Valley
companies. Fairchild Semiconductor was bought and later spun-off by National
Semiconductor, in 1997.
