Rheem Semiconductor In 1961, Raytheon acquired the struggling Rheem Semiconductor from Rheem Manufacturing. Fairchild Semiconductor In 1997, Fairchild bought Raytheon Electronics’ RF Components Division Commercial Business
Unit and it is now Fairchild’s Analog and Mixed Signal group.

 Company Overview

Raytheon was founded in 1922 as America Appliance Company. It changed its name in 1925. The semiconductor division was formed in 1950 and was sold to Fairchild Semiconductor in 1997.
