They manufacture computers, electron devices, and communications equipment. Of interest to chip collectors, NEC was the first Japanese company to develop and manufacture a single chip microprocessor, the 751 also known as the uCom 4.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>NEC was a manufacturer of discrete components, integrated circuits, and memory chips. NEC was one of the leaders in the early microprocessor industry both as a creator of new designs, as well as, a significant second source. Many of the first computerized games of the 70&#8217;s sported NEC processors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Today NEC continues as a manufacturer of computers, supercomputers, communications equipments,
